Our Corporate Name
Our project is listed as WalConWKS, Inc. with The State of Alabama and also the federal IRS. The corporation does business as “Dadeville Performing Arts Center.” Many have asked why do you have the name “WalConWKS?”
Our organization is a nonprofit corporation. A unique legal name is necessary for incorporation. At the time of incorporation, founders Wayne Conduff and Kim Walls had spent months looking at possible properties and were not sure whether the first building would be in Dadeville or out of the city. They came up with “WalConWKS” by combining their last names and first initials of Wayne, Kim, and Sally.
After many long discussion meetings and months of verbal encouragement from Dadeville citizens, school system, city government and business owners, our original board decided that we wanted to be located in Dadeville so school students could easily access our services and offerings. So, we named the project dba “Dadeville Performing Arts Center.”
Now we have a mortgage on a beautiful old building in a great location on the Dadeville downtown square and have participants from all over Tallapoosa County and Lake Martin. We are looking forward to even more participation from Dadeville residents this summer. Come, let’s “Create Music with Friends.”
